Kenpo Karate

American kenpo karate in Sacramento is great for men, women and children. Men like the hard hitting and women like precision and the flowing movements. Children learn self-discipline and respect.

Sacramento Martial Arts

Not necessarily OUR version, but it is A version:

1. CLUTCHING FEATHERS (front left hand hair grab)
  • 1. Standing naturally, step back with your left foot (into a right neutral bow), simultaneously pin opponent's left hand (to your head) with your left hand as you deliver a right middle finger fist to opponent's left armpit (have your fist strike vertically).
  • 2. While in a right neutral bow, strike to the inside of your opponent's left arm with first a left inward and then a right outward block as your left hand immediately continues its course of action and cocks to your left hip.
  • 3. Shift to a right forward bow as you deliver a left heel thrust to opponent's jaw. Simultaneously convert your right outward block into an extended outward block, keeping your right extended outward block in place for protection, as well as in position for the next move.
  • 4. Immediately shift into a right neutral bow as you deliver a right raking knuckle strike to bridge of opponent's nose. Without any loss of momentum pivot into a right reverse bow while continuing your right hand in a counter clockwise circle, slightly changing the orbit, and convert it into a right downward hammer fist to opponent's groin.
  • 5. From the right reverse bow deliver a right rear scoop kick to your opponent's testicles.
  • 6. Right from the kick go into a right front crossover and cover out twice.

Sacramento Kenpo Karate

 Thanksgiving is Over!
Now on to Christmas!
Time Flies when you are having fun!
KENPO 101 –
Borrowed Force - An opponent's force which is used to defeat him. This can be accomplished by going with the opponent's force or, upon occasion, going against his force. The concept allows your opponent's force to enhance the effectiveness of your action.
Borrowed Reach - You can have Borrowed Reach without Borrowed Force, but not the other way around. Use Borrowed Reach to get Borrowed Force. A kick to the groin, gives you Borrowed Reach (bends attacker over and gets them closer to us) but we don't get Borrowed Force until you follow the kick with a strike.

Lemniscate (Lemniscate of Bernoulli)–

Most of us recognize this symbol as the infinity symbol, a figure 8, and in some cases as the ouroboros. This symbol has been at the forefront of our training lately.

Torque -
"Moment" is the general term for the tendency of one or more applied forces to rotate an object about an axis (the concept which in physics is called torque). Rotational analogues of force, mass, and acceleration are torque, moment of inertia, and angular acceleration, respectively.(Taken from Wikipedia)

Graham Lelliott's Kenpo Camp May 2011

Not only did I receive it, I'm posting for all to see.  This is a terrific camp with some of the warmest people I've ever encountered.  We will absolutely be there if finances allow.  Well worth the money.

Hi Amy,

Just letting everyone know that we will be doing the camp Wonder Valley again next year in May 2011.

It would be great to see you and if you can pass the word around i would be very grateful. I am sending you an attachment of a poster that you could possibly use to advertise the event at your Dojo.

Also if you click on the website www.glkenpo.com there is information on the event, but you will need to register an interest via the Jot-form on the site. This does not lock you into any financial obligations until such time as we will require a deposit. Im sure you can appreciate that the room space is limited, so an earlier response would help my wife Jaydean tremendously. The Jot-form will go directly to her from this link and she will correspond with you.

I would appreciate that you would send myself a reply acknowledging that you have received this email at glkenpo@hotmail.com .

Take care and be safe.

Graham
